'L' Children

Oh. my. goodness. Can you believe how completely adorable these 3 are?? They are so carefree and sweet! We had so much fun! I told the kids to just play and pretend I wasn't there. The little girl (naturally) would play and twirl, then stop and smile and fling her hair- she so knew I was taking her picture! Like a little model.

I could post on and on. This was a full session and boy we packed a lot in! You MUST go to the full gallery when I get them all uploaded to see how great they were! I got really great individual shots, too.

That sweet baby just would NOT wake up!!! Mom and Dad tried and tried to rouse her- but she was just worn out- saving it all for that night! HA!

It looked like they were holding a baby doll! She is just gorgeous and never made a sound!
I have a few more ready to pst again in a minute. I had the BEST time, Thank you so much allowing me to be a part of your precious memories.

Promise of Joy:
I am fearfully and wonderfully made.
Psalm 139:14

Looking at that perfect baby, this scripture just popped out at me. How could anyone deny God when looking upon the face of a child?
It also makes me think of the precios baby boy that was sent from above to be the Saviour of the world! Just gives me chills!! Keep Him in focus this Christmas season- He IS the reason!!

Bbbbrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr....

Well, the last picture sort of sums up the whole session! Poor baby was clinging to her big sis for some warmth! =) What we do for cute pictures!!
Well, it was worth the icy noses for me! For our circumstances, I think these turned out good. Most importantly- we had a good time (at least I did). I wish I had time to post the whole session- there are several others I'd love to share. If you'd like to see more- just check with the other site in a couple of days and all the pictures will be posted in the 'C' girls gallery.

If there is a change you want me to make- add "Merry Christmas" or something- please just let me know and I'll take care of it for you. Again- thank you for trusting me with these. Your girls are gorgeous- and an absolute joy to be around! Have a very Merry Christmas!!

Promise of Joy:
Pray about everything; tell God your needs, and don't forget to thank Him for His answers. If you do this, you will experience God's peace... His peace will keep your thoughts and your hearts quiet and at rest.
Philippians 4:6,7

OK- this may make this blog long- but I can not tell you how much this verse ministers to ME!!!! I pray (a lot) before every session usually.=) But for some reason, I didn't with this one- I was rushed , you know the excuses- and I have been a nervous wreck about this session!!! I just told a friend this tonight. I just didn't have peace about it. I knew it was because I didn't pray before it! I LIVE by this verse! God is so real to me and an ever-presence in my life! But I feel like He still honored my prayers and has given me yet another great session. I do give Him all the glory in what I do and thank Him immensely for giving me such an awesome hobby!!! So when I flipped to this verse tonight- the VERY night I needed it- it was such a "lightbulb" moment- I just had to share! =)

'C' Girls

Mini session???? There is no such thing when you have such beautiful girls to photograph! =) I just couldn't stop! I will say it was "mini" in time- because bbrrrrrrr- we were FREEZING!! It was the coldest day of the season so far- and there we were- right out in the open wind! What troopers they were!!!!!

We got after it- and were finished in about 30 minutes. And I tell ya- I got more in that 30 minutes than I do sometimes in an hour! They were so adorable and had such a good time. They can really put on a show!

The sky was horribly gray and little or no sun most of the time- an unusually gloomy day- but their attitudes and those bright dresses did the trick. I couldn't get their eyes to shine quite like I normally do - but I still really liked how they turned out.

I had a GREAT time with you guys and really look forward to doing your family pics in the spring! Thank you so much for trusting me with your Christmas memories!!!

Promise of Joy:
Give, and it shall be given unto you.
Luke 6:38

Let's not forget this promise this Christmas season. Thankfully- we can not out-give God!! God Bless You!!!

Phillips (again) =)

Here are just a few more. These are just a sneak peek. I really liked the one with the grandparents and just the girls behind them. It turned out sweet to me. That is their daughter and their 2 grand- daughters. I didn't mention in the last blog- but I feel remiss if I don't respectfully mention the girls' mom in this blog.

Their mother (another daughter to these precious grandparents) passed away several years ago after a hard-fought battle with cancer. I must say I thought of her so often yesterday as I took these pictures- and I never even met her. But I know, just by being around her 2 wonderful daughters and great parents that she too had to be wonderful. I know that these moments must be heavy with her memory.

Thank you again and again for letting me capture these memories for you. =)

Promise of Joy:
Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.
Galations 6:2

I thought this was perfect for this family. They have been through so much, but leaned on each other and were strong for one another when they needed to be. This is also what makes a family!

Phillips Family

These are such sweet pictures. This is my niece's family. They are so sweet! You may recognize her from engagement and wedding pictures last year. She is actually married to my nephew- but she is defintiely my niece now. =)

They wanted some pictures with their grandparents- so I thought doing them at their house would be great. She has one of the prettiest yards around- but it is such a yucky time of the year. We MUST do this again in the spring when everything looks so beautiful.

The ones with the lake are taken in the view from their front yard. I liked the way they turned out. The big group is her Nanna and Papaw, her aunt, her husband (the light brown headed guy- my nephew), her sister and her long-time boyfriend. They are a very close-knit bunch- and you can REALLY feel it when you are around them. They think the world of their grandparents. That is what I was trying to show by letting them sort of stand a part. They are the leaders and the strongest influences in these girls lives. They are very Godly people and I know are very respected and loved by their family.

Thank you soooo much for asking me to do these and trusting me with your precious memories. I had a great time- even if we were all freezing! =) Your family means so much to me and I pray that you have many, many more memories to capture with your precious grandparents. I really would love to do these again in the spring and show off her beautiful yard!

Can you thank someone for a thank you gift?? Well, I am- you were much too generous and it was totally not needed or expected. You guys are all so sweet- but honestly, you're like family to me- and I WANT to do things for you too! But thank you from the bottom of my heart! Love you!

Promise of Joy:
To be the greatest, be a servant.
Matthew 23:11

This is a very strong scripture. This time of the year it is very important to remember that this is exactly why Jesus was born on this earth. He was the greatest servant ever, yet was the King of Kings! How great is our God??

First Buck!!!!

Buck Fever has hit my house like an epidemic flu! =) I have 2 very happy guys outside skinning one BIG deer! Nasty! I was not raised by or with hunters- it has been an acquired excitement. I love that they get so excited- but I do get grossed out pretty easily. To be honest- it's hard for me to imagine ever wanting to shoot that beautiful animal- but to each his own. But I do respect the passion!

This is a sweet story- the guy pictured with my son is the man that actually took him hunting. He is "Mr. DR" - I'll keep it to that. He is one of our very favorite people and one of the most highly respected men I know. He is such a great friend and mentor to our family. We go to church with him, he is a deacon with my husband and a revered Sunday School teacher. He is a very avid hunter and fisher and holds treasured secrests of where the "big ones" are of all types of game! He has such a love for the outdoors.

Mr. DR called yesterday and asked what his hunting buddy was doing. Of course, he was playing video games! He asked if he could join him the next evening (today) for a hunt. And of course we said Yes- and were very excited and honored that he thought enough of M to want to take him! He is the exact role model I want for my child! My husband was upset thinking he wouldn't get to go because he couldn't get off to go- he didn't think DR would want to take him by himself. But that's what he intended! M was very excited.

He went thinking he could only kill a doe. It was on very restricted private property. But when he called me this evening he told me it was a 5 point! He was so excited- and man, DR was too!! The guy told him he could kill a buck- so a buck it was! It weighed 190 lbs.

It was too funny- DR told me he was starving after just 5 minutes on the stand. DR told him he'd have to wait. M told him his Daddy always took snack. Naturally, DR said- "Well, I ain't your Daddy!" HAHAHAHA!!! =)

Then he spotted the buck. M said he was scared to shoot (he has been popped in the head by a gun before) and the buck walked. It came back a few minutes later. He said he was scared again. DR said- "Well, give me that gun- I'll shoot him!" HA! That's all it took. M got a good shot on that bucks shoulder and dropped him.

Then DR told me he was "no loader". He said he dragged that deer a mile and had him up on the 4 wheeler except for the leg. DR said "M, grab that leg for me". He said he couldn't get it! HA! I told him that that one leg weighed as much as M! He only weighs 45 lbs! So they had a great time!

DR brought him out to the house and they took lots of pictures. It's like early Christmas around here. M has stars in his eyes. This is his 3rd year and 3rd deer. He loves to hunt. He said that is the one thing his Daddy teaches him- (HA) and will always do it. -Isn't that hilarious!

So, today was special to our family. These are great memories for 'M'- and I could not be happier that they were made with Mr. DR. He is such a blessing to our family.

Thank you Mr. DR- this has been a great day for M. You'll never know how much it has meant to us. We love you!

Promise of Joy:
I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth.
3 John 1:4

This verse makes me thing of Mr. DR- because of his teaching and his influence, there are many walking in God's truth. He will never know the lives he has touched until one day the Lord might show him. God Bless you!!

A few designs...

I played around with some lettering techniques today and wanted to show you what I came up with.

** If I have already done your session and you want something like this added to yours, just email or call me and I can add it to one of your pictures and add it to your gallery.

I really like the top one and will probably do one like this for my own family. I wanted to show the vintage style and b/w and sepia that I can do also.

I am booked until January. Thank you so much to all of you who have made this possible. I have had the BEST time!! =)

Start scheduling your spring pictures NOW. I will be very bust with Sr portraits and and a few wedding sessions that spots will be very limited. So please scedule now so that I won't have to overbook.-- Which I must say has been a great problem to have!!! You guys are the greatest!

Please email me with any questions or you can leave me a comment below. Thanks a BUNCH!! Have a WONDERFUL Thanksgiving!

Promise of Joy:
A merry heart doeth good like a medicine.
Proverbs 17:22

This is a great verse to usher in the CHRISTmas season!
Remember: HE is the ONLY reason for this wonderful season!

A few more...

Here are a few more of this cute little family. I know that top picture is a little different- but I thought it was cute. I really like the one where the girls look so serious on the grass. That really is one of my favorites. I am going to have to play with it some and get different looks for it.

They are beautiful and I have so enjoyed being a part of their lives. Thank you so much for trusting me to "capture" your memories.

I will let you know when they are all up on the printroom site. I will try to put a few at a time up as I get them finished so you can have time to order for Christmas.

**I am really full for Christmas. I may can squeeze in a mini session - about 30 minutes- no change of clothing, about 30 minutes if you need me to to have in time for cards. Please email me if you are interested. =)

Promise of Joy:
This is the day that the Lord hath made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.
Psalm 118:24

Please remember to keep Christ in Christmas this season! We should parise the One who makes it possible!

Another 'W' Family

This is a different 'W' family. These are friends of mine that I met through teaching school. I taught the oldest girl 3 years ago in 1st grade, and now I am teaching the youngest one. I always feel such a bond with my sweet "babies". I feel right "at home" with them.

Aren't they adorable?? I tell you I had the HARDEST time choosing just a few to post there were soooooo many good ones!! This is just a sneak peek- I am not even sure if they are my favorites yet or not. Sometimes it takes me a while to decide.

I had such a good time with this session- they had the cutest clothes and pretty much knew what they wanted- I hope I did ok for you! I really did have a fabulous time and thanks again for lunch!!

Let me know which ones you'd like to see faded or black and white, or sepia and I'll take care of them. I'll do some later and give you some ideas.

You are a wonderful family and I am so glad to be getting to know you better!
Enjoy-

Promise of Joy:
Let us not love in theory or in speech but in deed and in truth~ in practice and in sincerity.
1 John 3:18

We had a local family lose all of their worldly possessions in a house fire this week. They have 1 daughter (size 7) and 1 son (size 4) if you have anything that you can give to help them. I am sure toys and games would be appreciated as well- with Christmas approaching. Please contact me through email if you feel led to give. That is so difficult emotionally and finacially- we need to put our good words to action.

A few more 'W'

I wanted to post some pics of the smaller groups. I loved these. My favorite though is of the mom and dad. It just fits their personalities to me.
I don't know why I like the ones of the children's legs- but I just do. It reminds me that they are still young and share such a close bond.
I know my good friend, 'J' is going to say it looks like they just lost their heads- HA!
I really got a lot of great shots this day- sometimes it just "clicks"- but I must confess I did a lot of praying for this session. The weather just wasn't looking good, and I was so afraid there wouldn't be any light. There wasn't a lot of light- as you can tell in some of the later pictures- but I think it turned out fine. So I must Give God the glory for blessing me once again!

Promise of Joy:
Be content with such things as ye have.
Hebrews 13:5

Our preacher preached this from a different text the other day, and I flipped right to this vese tonight. Maybe God is trying to tell me something?? =) I know how blessed I am with great family and friends- but I think we can all be reminded of this verse from time to time!
